Riding and Non-riding Volunteers

Packet pick-up– This is a fun opportunity to help Tour de Pink cyclists sign up for the ride and make sure they have everything they need for the big day. Packet pick-up takes place at Bike Barn on Kirby on Friday, September 17 from 10 am-7 pm (preferred shifts are 9:45- noon, 11:45- 2, 1:45- 5 and 4:45- 7) and Saturday, September 18 (preferred shifts are 9:45- noon, 11:45- 2, 1:45- 5 and 4:45- 6) from 10 am-6 pm.

Set up- Arrive early at Prairie View A&M and help the Pink Ribbons Project staff and volunteers help set up for the big day. This involves setting up tents, putting out “in honor/ in memory of” and sponsor signs, and setting up registration. 4:30 am- 6:00 am.

Start Line- Help organize cyclists into their appropriate mileage groups. Help student volunteers blow up different colored balloons and group cyclists together. Direct cyclists to the Bike Barn tent if they need assistance with their bike. 6:30 am- 8:00 am

Packet pick-up/ Registration– Help cyclists pick up their packet and register for the ride. Make sure they have everything they need to ride. 5:30 am-8:00 am.
Non-riding Volunteers

Parking attendants– Help direct traffic the morning of the ride. Make sure all cyclists know where the start/ finish line is. 6:00 am - 8:00 am

Corner Marshals- This is one of the most important volunteer opportunities. Corner marshals are out on the course and direct riders as they go. This is a great chance to cheer on your friends and family who are riding. All day.

Lunch volunteers– Direct cyclists to the lunch line, and make sure system is going smoothly. 10:00 am – 2:00 pm

Social media volunteers – This is a new volunteer opportunity this year. Help Pink Ribbons Project launch its new awareness campaign, Face It. You will be helping cyclists take their picture and upload information onto a website. 8:00 am – 3:00 pm

Cheerleaders - Cheer on the riders as they cross the finish line! This is a great opportunity to cheer on your friends and family. We need LOTS of cheerleaders! All day.

Clean-up- Help Pink Ribbons Project staff break down equipment at the Start/ Finish line after the ride.1:00 pm – 3:00 pm.
